All suctioncups go through a strict quality test before they are approved and packed.
VacuumRack is the fastest and easiest way to securely transport your sports gear. It is mounted with strong vacuum suctioncups, which are pumped to the car roof in under 2 minutes. Our Ski Rack’s and Bike Rack's are adjustable and designed to give great flexibility and versatility. Fits about any car.
VacuumRack AS of Norway was founded in Oslo – 2018. It all started 3 years ago with a sports car and a need to carry skis on it. We discovered the vacuum suctioncup technology that was originally designed to lift heavy glass inserts onto buildings. From then and until now we have worked hard and done many tests, to offer what we believe is the market's best vacuum suctioncup Ski Rack and Bike Rack, with the largest adjustability in order to fit as many cars as possible.
Wich cars can use VacuumRack?
VacuumRack can be mounted on about any car. Each 150mm / 6" vacuum suction cup needs 170mm flat and smooth mounting area. It will attach to body panels made of steel, aluminium and glass. Always test that the mounting area is strong enough to support the VacuumRack Ski Rack and Bike Rack.
Here is a list of some cars that is popular to mount the VacuumRack to: Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW i3 / i8, Bentley, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Citroen, Dacia, Dodge, Ferrari, Ford, Fiat, Hyundai, Hummer, Jaguar, Jeep, Kia, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Lexus, Lotus, Mazda, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Saab, Seat, Subaru, Skoda, Tesla model X / S / 3, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo
How fast can I go with the VacuumRack?
Our Ski Rack and Bike Rack's is rated to 120km/h and 40kg loading capacity. We have tested the roof rack’s to higher speeds and forces, but we want you to be on the safe side.
I have a wrapped car, can I use VacuumRack?
The vacuum suction cup will attach to wrapped cars, but the vacuum may in some cases cause the wrap to bubble and become damaged. This can also cause the suction cup to fail. Therefore, we do not recommend using the suction cups on wrapped surfaces.
How do we ship the goods?
Products are shipped from Norway with Bring, wich we have concluded is the fastest and safest carrier. With Bring we take full responsibility for the product, until the point of delivery. Shipping time depends on how far you are from our office and warehouse in Oslo. The goods will be delivered at the door or at the postal office, depending on the rules in the country of destination. The order is packed and shipped as fast as possible, and at latest within 3 working days. Handling fee, import duties and taxes will most likely apply on orders out of Norway. How much this is depends on import rules in your country, e.g. Europe has a VAT rate from 17% in Luxemburg to 27% in Hungary. This is also why we sell our products with 0% VAT.
Yes, but do not worry. The vacuume cups will at some point start to loose vacuum. How long it takes before they start to loose vacuum depends on weather conditions and mounting surface. There will always be microscopical scratches or inconveniences in the car paint, this will at some point alow air into the vacuum cup. A VacuumRack suction cup in good condition will hold vacuum for several hours. We have done tests that shows that the VacuumRack normally start to loose vacuum after about a day, and in best case we drove with the rack on a car for a whole winter before we removed it. Our recommendation is allways to check the pump indicator before driving, and to store your rack in the protective covers after use. Doing this you can safely drive without a worry, and also know that even if one suction cup for some reason were to fail, the rest of the suction cups is plenty enough to support your gear.
Will different wether conditions effect the VacuumRack?
Rain, snow and sun will in general not effect your rack. However we recommend you to check your rack more often if you observe high and fast temperature changes. With this said, we have done tests where we have used high pressure washer (directly on the suctioncups) in a warm indoor car wash, without the suctioncups failing. Then, without drying we took the car out in freezing temperatures without signs of any problems. We have also done tests in the summer where we completely dipped a rack in the salty ocean, then pumped it on a sailbot and let it sit in the sun for days. Also without any problems.
